CENTER POINT, AL (WBRC) -

A homeowner in Center Point took drastic measures to protect his property after it was burglarized several times.

The homeowner told deputies his house in the 2400 block of Ormond Drive had been broken into twice in the past two weeks, but he had not reported either of the burglaries.

On Sunday, he decided to "bait" the suspects by parking away from his home, then he walked home and waited for them to strike again.

The homeowner, armed with a pistol, waited for the suspects on his couch. Around 9 a.m. Sunday, he saw one of the suspects look around the corner of the hall where he was sitting. The suspect ran downstairs and fled from the home.

The homeowner was unable to catch him, but then spotted a second suspect escaping from his house. He fired two shots into the ground and both of the suspects ran away.

The suspects were seen leaving the area in a blue, two-door Pontiac driven by a female.

Deputies found a broken window at the back of the house where the suspects had entered the home.

No one was hurt and nothing was stolen during the burglary.

The burglary suspects have not yet been caught.
