MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

All eyes in the automotive industry were focused on Montgomery, Alabama Wednesday and the unveiling of Hyundai's redesigned 2015 Sonata sedan.

The rollout was the first of its kind, with the popular car being introduced via satellite feed simultaneously at the New York Auto Show and live on the production line at the company's Montgomery assembly plant.

Plant employees cheered loudly as the unveiling took place.

Director of Quality Operations, Chris Susock, participated in a live question and answer session with top auto industry leaders from New York.

Christopher Payne could be seen holding an "Alabama Proud" sign in the background as one of the team members chosen to take part in the live feed spoke. Payne, an 8 year employee of Hyundai, says he was proud to see the group's work spotlighted around the world.

Hyundai has already begun test productions and says the updated Sonata will be available at dealerships by late summer.
