Troy police make arrests in possible multi-county burglary ring

Police say two men are under arrest, charged with burglary and are possibly facing other charges after a series of burglaries.

25-year-old Emmanuel Lewis and 23-year-old Eddie Slimene Kelly, both of Montgomery, are charged with Burglary first degree following an arrest made on Monday.

Troy Police say on Monday April 12 around 12:19 p.m. they reported to call of a burglary in progress in the 1600 block of County Road 1165. The victim gave investigators the description of two black males fleeing from the scene in a black Toyota with tinted windows.

The information from the victim help responders locate the suspects shortly after the incident was reported. The suspects were then identified by the victim and transported to the Troy Police Department.

Following the arrests the Pike County Sheriff's Department, Bullock County Sheriff's Department and Montgomery County Sheriff's Department were contacted after the vehicle's description matched the description of a suspect vehicle in other burglaries.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department proceeded by executing two search warrants on the residences of the suspects and some proper was collected as possible items from previous burglaries.

Lewis and Kelly have been transported to the Pike County Jail on $50,000 bond each. Additional charges may be file from other agencies at a later date, pending investigations.
