Alabama forestry workers are battling a brush at Lake Lurleen State Park.
The fire started about two hours ago and smoke could be seen across the lake. Officials said around 5 p.m. that the fire had burned about an acre.
Personnel from the forestry commission and the Mt. Olive Volunteer Fire Department are hand-raking the fire. They say it is in a difficult to reach location.
The park manager says nothing in the park is in danger. Trails were already closed due to downed trees after a recent storm.
