man who has reportedly escaped from both the Lee County Detention Facility and
the Muscogee County Prison is now in custody once again, according to Columbus
say Lee County Sheriff Deputies recaptured Darrin Tyron Adams of Phenix City,
Ala. on Thursday, April 17, at around 12:30 a.m.
first escaped Lee County Detention Facility on Dec. 5, 2013, while awaiting
booking. Investigators said he might have been able to exit through a door that
was opened to release another inmate.
was later arrested for a controlled substance violation, and sent to Muscogee
County Prison. In April, Adams reportedly escaped again, walking away during work
detail on Woodruff Farm Rd.
reports stated that Adams had an outstanding warrant for theft of
property issued in 1997. If found, he would face a felony charge of second
degree escape, and a possible 10 year sentence in prison.
He is currently being held at the Lee County Detention Facility.
