MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Auburn police say a man is facing charges for allegedly shooting a woman during a domestic dispute.

Johnnie L. Forte, 59, has been charged with second degree domestic violence.

Auburn police officers responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Kent Dr. at 1:50 a.m. Friday after getting a report of shots being fired.

Officers discovered a 29-year-old woman had been shot in the leg. She was transported to the hospital for treatment and released.

Forte was transported to the Lee County Jail and his bond was set at $15,000.
