Autauga County Commissioner AG Carter has died

A.G. Carter, the Autauga County Commissioner of District III, has died according to Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie.

Mayor Gillespie tells WSFA 12 News that Carter died in his sleep sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning. According to Gillespie, Carter was not ill and was doing well health wise despite battling cancer a few years ago.

Gillespie stated that the City of Prattville and Autauga County has lost a great man.

"He has left his mark on Autauga County, and also on the City of Prattville," Gillespie stated. "He will be missed."

Carter was born and raised in Autauga County, and has served on the County Commission for the past 21 years according to the Autauga County website.
