HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Police are investigating a robbery that happened at a Huntsville grocery store early Saturday morning.

Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. to the Kroger on the 8400 block of Memorial Parkway.

According to investigators, the offender acted like he was going to purchase an item and when the employee opened the cash drawer, the offender grabbed him and threw him to the ground before taking an unknown amount of money. Police said the offender then fled the scene.

Authorities said the investigation in the case is ongoing.
