DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Governor Robert Bentley focused on the economy during his visit to the Tennessee Valley.

Bentley made several stops in Decatur on Monday as part of his Road to Economic Recovery tour. His first stop was at Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q.

Bentley discussed local economic conditions and state-level efforts to attract more jobs to Alabama. He talked with business owners and residents.

"I think the economy has slowly improved," said Bentley. "In Alabama, we're seeing some improvement. This last month, our unemployment rate actually went back up some, but we have actually more people working now than we did a month ago."

Bentley also visited Walter Jackson Elementary School. His tour concluded with a business roundtable discussion.
