ROOSEVELT, AZ (CBS5) -

A 28-year-old man has been rescued after falling off a cliff in the Saloma Cove area at Roosevelt Lake, about 80 miles east of Phoenix.

The Gila County Sheriff's Office said it got a 911 call from a man who said his friend fell into the lake about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety launched its helicopter to do a long-line rescue.

Gila County Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd said the man, identified as Adam Jordan, suffered numerous injuries and was in and out of consciousness when he was flown to Scottsdale Osborne Hospital. His current condition is unknown.

The Tonto Basin Fire Department, Tonto National Forest law enforcement, Tonto rim search and rescue along with DPS and three sheriff's deputies helped in the rescue.
