Dora church dealing with burglaries and vandalism

DORA, AL (WBRC) -

A small church in Walker County is dealing with a string of burglaries.

"Had a bar and chain to it and tore it down," Dora pastor Donald Hudson described what he found Tuesday morning at his church. It's the latest act of vandalism and what he says is burglary of the Free Gospel Deliverance Center of the Apostolic Faith.

"It's testing my faith. Yes it is. It's testing my faith but I still have faith. Through knowing God will work things out," Donald Hudson said.

Hudson says three weeks ago someone broke in the front door and took a drum set, microphones and speakers.

A week later someone broke in the back door. This week, someone ripped the windows out.

"I think someone is jealous of me being pastor here. I was associate pastor here for 17 years, nothing happened," he said.

Dora Police Chief John Dochock says the the church is involved in a civil dispute. Some trustees are trying to oust Hudson. There have been confrontations at the church in the past. Someone may have tried to reclaim their equipment at the church's expense.

Duchock says his department is investigating the break-ins.

Pastor Hudson says he's putting his faith in the Lord and hoping law enforcement will get the bad guys.
