NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department has arrested the people responsible for three armed robberies in Lakeview that happened just minutes apart.

Around 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, police say a man was working outside a home in the 1400 block of Harrison Avenue when someone came up behind him with a gun.

The suspect went through the man's pockets.

Just minutes later, police say a woman was getting out of her car in the 6500 block of General Diaz when a man pulled a gun on her and demanded her purse.

And just a few minutes after that, police say a woman was sitting on her porch in the 900 block of Porteus Street when a man pointed a gun at her and robbed her.

All of the victims told police the man fled in a green pickup truck.

Police arrested 22-year-old Jamal Bartley, 21-year-old Gerald Williams and 19-year-old Jarvis Brown in the former Iberville Development at the intersection of Iberville and Marais Street.

After the detectives detained Bartley and Williams, police say they confessed to their involvement in the robberies. Jarvis Brown was uncooperative during the investigation.

The trio was booked into Central Lockup and charged with three counts of Armed Robbery, Illegal Carrying of weapons and Possession of Marijuana.
