NBC's Today Show featured an 'ambush makeover' Thursday morning focusing on Lynn Bright, a retired district judge and wife of former Montgomery mayor and Congressman Bobby Bright.

Bright was in New York and was chosen from the crowd in the plaza at the request of her daughter, Lisa.

Show producers took Bright to see style professionals before bringing her out to reunite with her daughter, sitting with show hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb , as well as makeover expert Louis Licari.

Talking about her mom, Lisa said she is a wonderful person who has cared about people all her life. "I just want her to be taken care of and she is perfect for this," she added.

Mrs. Bright said she was excited, with "mixed emotions," but added, "I would love to have this done..."

Bright was sent off and returned later with a blindfold over her eyes. When the blindfold came off, the excitement was contagious.

Licari, citing the retired judge's career, said he, "Wanted to give her a beautiful little black dress that felt elegant that was multipurpose in her wardrobe." He called the outfit she came out with, "gorgeous and perfect!"
