PHOENIX (CBS5) -

As you know, CBS 5 loves to "Pay It Forward" to people across the Valley.

Our Pay It Forward mission is celebrating quite a milestone this week: every week for the last five years, we've given a Valley resident $500 to Pay It Forward to someone in need, someone deserving, someone who could use a hand-up.

For five years, you've made us cry and by the thousands, you've asked to Pay It Forward to your Valley neighbors.

Kind-hearted and well meaning, for five years you've brought out the very best in our community.

You were looking out for one another and extending a helping hand.

Thank you for letting CBS 5 be a part of the Pay It Forward spirit that is making for a better Arizona.

To celebrate, we're upping the ante. On Monday, CBS 5 will launch a new effort.

Be on the lookout as we up our game and the CBS 5 Surprise Squad hits Valley streets.

The Surprise Squad may pick up the tab on your fancy dinner, fill up your gas tank, buy your groceries or that unexpected car repair. You'll never know what they're up to but we can tell you, it'll always be good.

Again, catch the Surprise Squad on CBS 5 starting Monday.

You will continue to see our Pay It Forward stories every Thursday night on CBS 5 News at 10 p.m. [Related: See our Pay It Forward stories]
