A Tuscaloosa homeowner is fed up with trying to fix her damaged home.
Shuryvonne Dixon has been trying to get work completed on a home she owns in Tuscaloosa more than a year after it was damaged by a fire, and then wind.
"I've been begging him since July of 2013," Dixon said.
Dixon contracted the work with Larry Paige, owner of "Right the First Time Construction."
In 2013, she paid Paige nearly $20,000 for a new roof, drywall, roofing, electrical, and flooring.
"He has made promises, promises and promises. However, he had not completed the work,"Dixon said.
Dixon tells FOX6 News Paige has been doing work on and off, and that he's been giving her the runaround. She's contacted several government agencies for help.
After trying to get Paige's side for a week, we found him Thursday outside of Dixon's home.
Reporter Josh Gauntt: "She said she contacted the Attorney General,
Tuscaloosa Police. She sent you a letter about this and she said nothing
has been done. And that's why she contacted us."
Paige: "Okay, well we're getting it all done now."
Paige claims he has to do more work than what was in the contract.
"What had happened, we put a new roof on this thing," Paige said. "We did a lot of work that really wasn't on the contract for the insurance."
FOX6 News also found Paige is doing this work with expired city and county licenses.
"We'll I'm in the process of getting them back in progress," Paige said.
Dixon syas she just wants to move on.
"Complete the work, pass the inspection and we're done," Dixon added.
Paige assured us he would complete the work in two weeks. FOX6 News will follow up with Dixon and Paige in two weeks.
