LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

State prosecutors want to revoke the bond of a man charged with starving cows to death in two North Alabama counties.

The Limestone County District Attorney filed a warrant for David Coffman, but when deputies went to serve it, Coffman was nowhere to be found.

Coffman's attorney contacted the sheriff's office and said his client would turn himself in. Coffman is facing animal cruelty charges in both Limestone and Lauderdale Counties. Officials found dead and starving cows on his properties in both counties.

"In many cases, when someone's arrested and they're out on bond, if they go out and get charged with a repeat same offense or other type of offenses, then the DA's office can file a motion to revoke their bond," said Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely.

Sheriff Blakely said he hopes to have Coffman in custody by the end of the weekend.
