Vigil for Cleveland father shot and killed in front of his child

The search continues for the people behind a heartless crime. A father was shot and killed in front of his young son. 

A vigil was held today for 27-year-old Donald Williams. He was murdered in cold blood early on Wednesday, April 23 in front of his two-year-old.

His mother, Sandra Williams, spoke about grace, "We do have forgiveness in our hearts for what you did to our son."

She also spoke about the problems caused when her two-year-old grandson witnessed the shooting of his father.

Williams supplied 19 Action News with, "It's affecting him now. We're seeing it in his behavior." 

Three gunmen broke into Williams' apartment Wednesday morning but they didn't take anything of value. According to anonymous family member it seems Donald Williams might have known his killers.

"They came in to exactly where he sleeps," one disclosed. 

Another added, "He asked my brother, 'Where is it?' His last words were, 'I don't know.' Then, he shot him."

Donald Williams' girlfriend did not attend the vigil. After seeing one of the three gunmen, the one who didn't wear a mask; she fears for her own safety and remains in hiding. Sunday, April 27 all three gunmen remain at large.
