MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Great News, Penny found her forever home!

Each week the great people at the Montgomery Humane Society feature a "Pet of the Week." Penny just happened to be featured a couple of weeks ago and our staff couldn't help but to write about her, to help find her a home.

Penny is one special kitten who needed some extra special love and was hoping that once you heard her story, you'd fall in love.

When Penny first came to the shelter she had Glaucoma in one eye and ulcers in the other. After weeks of special care and attention, it was decided that her eyes could not be saved and they needed to be removed.

This was only a minor set back in her young life. Just like other cats, Penny can get around just fine, relying on her senses to do the work! Climbing on couches and up the cat tree, are just some of her favorite things to do. She can eat both normal and wet cat food and gets along with other cats, once she gets to know them.

Penny's new owner is a wonderful lady who thought her own cat Aubie, may need a friend. Penny was adopted shortly after the story was published and is enjoying life with her new brother and her home.
