CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden needs some help naming its newest baby girl.

Tessa, a 7-year-old giraffe at the zoo, gave birth to her third calf just after 5:30 a.m. Monday. The mother delivered the calf standing up and the newborn fell 5 to 6 feet to the ground. Shortly after, the female calf was standing on its feet and trying to nurse.

Zoo keepers posted updates throughout the morning on Twitter. Because of her very public birth, the zoo is letting the public suggest names for the calf on its Facebook page.

Names will be collected through Tuesday, April 29. Keepers will then announce their final four favorites on Thursday, May 1 and the public will vote.

The newest member of the zoo family is Tessa's third calf in three years. Tessa gave birth to Lulu in 2012 and to Zuri in 2011.

Zuri broke her leg in a stall at 7 weeks and was euthanized.
