The Walker County EMA has advised residents to re-program their weather radio channel while the Birmingham transmitter is on lower power.
The transmitter went out about a week ago and is transmitting on a lower power, which may not reach parts of Walker County. The EMA advises residents to check their radios to make sure they can hear broadcasts.
If you you are having trouble hearing the Birmingham channel (162.550 MHz), please try Tuscaloosa (162.400 MHz), Winfield (162.526 MHz) or Oneonta (162.425 MHz).
We have embedded a how-to video to help you change the weather radio channel. If you have any issues playing that, please click here.
