Wild Turkey uses social media to root for Rosie

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Wild Turkey Bourbon is rooting for jockey Rosie Napravnik to become the first woman in history to win the big race.

To show their support, Wild Turkey is making a $10,000 donation to Napravnik's favorite charity, Old Friends. The organization is dedicated to giving retired racehorses a safe and comfortable life.

Wild Turkey wants everyone to get into the spirit and support Napravnik too! From Sunday, April 27 to the start of the big race on Saturday, May 3, you can tweet #RideWithRosie to @WildTurkey. Every time the hashtag is used, Wild Turkey will donate $1 to Old Friends until they reach another $10,000, totaling a $20,000 donation. If Napravnik wins, the bourbon brand will double that donation to $40,000.

Also in honor of Derby and Napravnik, Wild Turkey has named a special version of the mint julep the Ride with Rosie Julep.

Ride with Rosie Julep

2 oz. Wild Turkey 81

1 oz. Wild Turkey American Honey

1.5 oz. Lemon Juice

Mint Sprigs

Crushed ice

Slap mint springs in palm of your hand to release oils. Tear them into pieces and add to shaker filled with all other ingredients and ice cubes. Shake vigorously. Pour over crushed ice and garnish with a sprig of mint.

Enjoy!
