BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The National Weather Service has lifted a tornado watch for all counties in the FOX6 News viewing area.

A flash flood watch continues until 7 a.m. Wednesday.

At the time of this update, we were tracking a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms over East Central Mississippi. The good news is that so far there have been no tornado warnings across Mississippi.

The severe weather indices are lower, however, they still point towards the possibility of a few severe storms. We will have to keep a very close eye on the storms as they enter the heart of the Moderate Risk Zone.

One thing that could help our situation is the heavy rain and storms along the coast. Many times these complexes along the coast can limit the influx of moisture and instability.

We also expect a more progressive weather setup Tuesday night with the severe threat settling down by midnight.

We will continue to monitor radar trends and we will be the first to let you know if any reach the severe level. You can expect big improvements on Wednesday as cooler and more stable air finally arrives!
