Tuskegee University announces new president

Tuskegee University has selected a new president.

The university's board of trustees announced Tuesday that Brian Johnson, 40, was unanimously selected to become the university's next president.

Johnson is currently the Interim Vice President of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and Assistant Provost/Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs at Austin Peay State University in Clarkesville, TN, according to Tuskegee.

Johnson will assume the role of president on June 15.
