LEE COUNTY, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Police Department has arrested an Opelika man and charged him with third degree burglary and second degree theft of property.

Police arrested 20-year-old Tevin Stinson on Tuesday as a result of an ongoing investigation into a burglary and theft report that was filed on March 6. According to the report, the theft occurred at a residence in the 4800 block of Heath Road where the victim told officers that an unknown individual(s) unlawfully entered their residence while they were away. The report states that the suspect stole a 42" TV, various electronics and currency with a total value of $1,600.

During the investigation initiated by police, Stinson was developed as a suspect. With the assistance of the Lee County Sheriff's Department, property was recovered at Stinson's residence that matched the description of the property taken in the burglary. A warrant for Stinson's arrest was issued and he was taken into custody.

Stinson was transported to the Lee County Jail where he will be eligible for a $6,000 bond.
