Road closures and parking for the Flying Pig

(FOX19) -

Traffic is heavy on race mornings and officials encourage arriving early and carpooling. Arriving early is especially important if you plan on parking near the start.

Road closures:

  • All streets south of 4th Street will close at 6 a.m. in preparation for the marathon to begin at 6:30.
  • Taylor Southgate Bridge from Newport to Downtown and the Clay Way Bailey Bridge from Covington to Downtown close at 5 a.m.
  • Columbia Parkway: One westbound lane will be open from Mariemont. Eastbound Columbia Parkway will remain open. Westbound ramp from Columbia Parkway to Eastern Avenue will be closed.
  • Ramp from Red Bank Road to Westbound Columbia Parkway is closed.
  • All streets will reopen as racers clear from the route.

The Flying Pig offers free parking to participants that carpool to the event on Sunday. Click here for more information. Shuttle service is provided to the starting line and at back from the finish line for those in the carpool lot.

Cincinnati Metro offers day passes and early morning buses to help runners get to the starting line. More information here.

  • Central Riverfront Garage near Paul Brown Stadium. (Entry available 4 – 5 a.m.)
  • Queen City Garage on 3rd Street between Sycamore & Broadway. (Opens at 4 a.m.)
  • Heritage Garage at 321 Race Street. (Opens at 4 a.m.)
  • Eggleston Avenue Garage. (1.5 miles from start line, suggested to take bus to start line.)
