RUSSELL CO., AL (WSFA) -

A Phenix City teenage who is accused of planning to attack classmates with homemade explosives is pleading guilty to first degree attempted assault.

Derek Stout, 19, was arrested in January 2013 after his teacher found a notebook with detailed plans on an attack at Russell County High School.

Shrout is asking for five years probation.

The judge will decide on the man's sentence at a hearing on July 11.
