PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A wreck along Interstate 17 northbound caused some havoc for drivers headed to Table Mesa Recreational Area for the weekend.

A truck pulling a trailer rolled on I-17 at milepost 238 before 2 p.m., according to DPS Officer Carrick Cook.

There was a nine-mile backup as of 4 p.m.

All lanes opened about 4:40 p.m.

According to the Bureau of Land Management, the Table Mesa Recreation Area comprises approximately 11,557 acres. The area becomes congested with recreationists because it is easily accessed via Interstate 17 from Phoenix.
