MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A Montgomery high school student says her prom was a dream come true.

Miesha Salter brought actor Harold "House" Moore as her date to Sidney Lanier High School's prom Friday night.

"I'm a friend of the family, so they reached out and told me, and I've always been a big supporter of her, she overcame and fought cancer, so she's always been an inspiration to me," Moore said.

Moore has been featured on shows like "Lie to Me," "Necessary Roughness," "VH1's Single Ladies," "Tyler Perry's House of Payne," and "CSI." He started acting while he was a student at Alabama State  University.

Lanier's prom was held at the RSA Activity Center in downtown Montgomery.
