MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -
The Alabama Department of Transportation will commence bridge raising operations, weather permitting, from Sunday through Thursday on Perry Hill Road. The work will take place from the hours of 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. and should not affect daytime traffic.
On Sunday, from the hours of 6 p.m. until 6 a.m., all Perry Hill Road traffic will be shifted onto the southbound bridge so that work can be conducted on the northbound bridge.
On Monday and Tuesday, from the hours of 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., all Perry Hill Road traffic will be shifted onto the southbound bridge so that work can be done on the northbound bridge.
From Tuesday through Thursday, during the hours of 8 p.m. through 6 a.m., all Perry Hill Road traffic will be shifted onto the northbound bridge for construction on the southbound bridge.
The lane closures will not affect I-85 thru traffic.
ALDOT wants to remind motorist to consider using an alternate route, adjust arrival and departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area. The posted speed limit on I-85 is 45 mph.
