HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Multiple crews responded to a fire off of Highway 53 Sunday.

Authorities reported a two-alarm fire at 3136 Highway 53 around 7:50 a.m. Sunday.

One witness sent in pictures of the area near P & T Welding and Trailer Sales, Inc., where smoke was visibly filling the sky. Captain Frank McKenzie of Huntsville Fire & Rescue said he believes the building is a part of that business.

Captain McKenzie said the fire was mostly in the rear of the building and everyone was able to get out. There were no injuries. There is no confirmed cause yet.

Huntsville Fire & Rescue, including HAZMAT, Huntsville Police and the American Red Cross all responded to the fire.

Around 10 a.m., Huntsville police said Highway 53 between Dan Tibbs Road and Blake Bottom Road had to be closed due to the structure fire. Police said the stretch of highway was reopened around 11:15 a.m.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
