DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Alabama's Emergency Management Agency director toured damage in DeKalb County on Sunday.

Art Faulkner toured storm-damaged areas of the county and met with local officials. An EF-3 tornado ripped through the southern portion of the county during the overnight hours of April 28. Parts of the Smith Institute and Aroney communities were decimated.

Debris along County Road 4 is all that remains of several homes. Power was knocked out in many places, and at least a dozen chicken coops were damaged or destroyed.
