VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Police say one man is in custody after a shooting left another man dead Saturday.

It happened in Valdosta at the Park Chase Apartments around 5 p.m. on Old Statenville Road.

Brian Levon Charlton-Simmons, 18, is charged with Malice Murder.

According to a report, the victim, identified as Rufus Howard Ellis III, was shot and found in his car. He was taken to South Georgia Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Within a few minutes, officers identified Charlton-Simmons, and issued a regional look-out for him.

He was later found in Hamilton County, FL around 7 p.m. by deputies the same day and taken into custody.

Charlton-Simmons is being held in the Hamilton County, FL jail.
