HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Gas prices are heading back on a downward trend after a recent spike.

Prices went up by three cents on average over the past two weeks, but an industry analyst said there is good news around the corner.

The Lundberg Survey found that the average price nationwide is now $3.72 per gallon. However, crude oil prices have dropped, and US refineries are running at high rates.

This means we are due to see lower prices at the pump.

Albuquerque NM has the cheapest gas on average, with a gallon going for $3.34. Prices are highest in Los Angeles, at $4.27 per gallon.
