CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Jay Bruce could miss up to a month with what is reportedly a partially torn meniscus.

A source told FOX19 late Sunday night that "it is possible" Bruce could require surgery after being scratched from Sunday's game with what the club called "left knee soreness."

ESPN.com reports Bruce's injury is a partially torn meniscus and will be repaired this week.

Bruce is batting .218 with three home runs and 14 runs batted in this season.

Bruce was not in the Reds clubhouse during open media time after the Reds win on Sunday and the team doctor could not be reached for comment.

Bruce is one of only three major leaguers with at least 30 home runs each of the last three seasons.
