LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Investigators will be looking Monday for the cause of a fire that destroyed a Limestone County home that had already sustained heavy damage in last week's storms.

The fire started around 9:45 p.m. Sunday at a home on Parker Road, just north of U.S. 72.

Crews from Clements VFD and Owns VFD responded, and firefighters said flames were coming out of the home when they arrived. Firefighters thought they put it out, but they said they received a call around 12:30 a.m. that the fire had rekindled.

When crews arrived this time, they said the home was engulfed in flames.

Authorities said a man lived at the home, but he had been living at a hotel since the tornado. No one was injured, and the cause has not been determined yet.
