BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Jackson State University confirmed that one of their coach buses caught fire Monday.

The bus fire happened on I-20/59 northbound near Allison-Bonnett Memorial Drive Monday afternoon. The university tweeted that there have been no reported injuries. They also thank the public for their prayers and support concerning the incident.

The university says that the baseball team was headed to a match against Savannah State Tuesday. Officials say the team will travel back to Jackson, Miss. Monday and they "will not look to" reschedule the Savannah State game or the next game against Norfolk State.

A viewer sent in a photo of a large group of people that appear to be passengers from the bus. Another Twitter follower said that traffic stopped for a time on the interstate.
