AUTAUGAVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

Pastor Mac Gober of Canaan Land Ministries in Autaugaville, died this morning according to a friend of the family. Gober, who had a history of heart problems, reportedly died of heart failure.

Gober was the pastor of the Canaan Land Ministries which helped hundreds of men turn lost and broken lives into productive lives according to the ministries website.

Gober was a soldier in Vietnam and afterwards was a member of a motorcycle gang in which he lived a life of violence. Gober, according to the website, was able give up the rugged lifestyle he was living and became a devoted pastor.

Canaan land is a Christian home in which Men 18 years and older can apply to become students in the one year program.
