The Troy baseball team dropped all three games in the weekend series against Texas State at Bobcat Park.

The Trojans dropped the Friday night matchup to the Bobcats by a score of 7-3. Troy surrendered a seventh inning lead to the Bobcats after eight batters scored four runs on three hits.

Shane McCain received the loss after surrendering six runs, four of which were earned, on four hits in six innings of work. McCain also struck out seven batters before being pulled.

Jo-El Bennett led the Trojans with three of the team's seven hits.

In the Saturday matchup, the Trojans errors proved costly as three unearned runs gave the Bobcats a 5-2 win.

Tanner Hicks threw seven-and-one-thirds-innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs. The defense committed three errors that would prove to be the deciding factor in the game.

Clay Holcomb was the only Trojans to record multiple hits, going 2-for-4 on the day.

The Trojans dug themselves into an early hole on Sunday, and could not recover as Texas State completed the sweep winning 6-2.

Troy pitcher Ben Tidwell only lasted one-and-one-third-innings after giving up three runs in the first inning. Freshman Marc Skinner would relieve Tidwell and gave up one run on two hits and struck out six in four-and-two-third-innings of work.

Jakob Nixon and David Hall led the Trojans with two hits apiece. As a team, the Trojans left ten runners on base and struck out 11 times.

Troy now drops to ninth in the Sun Belt Conference standings. The Trojans are back in action against Arkansas State in a three-game weekend series starting on Friday.
