BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

The Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit says they are investigating a kidnapping and robbery.

Officers and deputies responded on Monday to the 4400 block on NE 17th Street on a robbery call. At the scene, the 23-year-old male victim said he had gone to meet a friend at an apartment in the 290 block of NE Kicker Road. He said that he was jumped by three or four suspects once he entered the apartment.

According to the victim, he was beaten with various objects and his phone and wallet were taken. He said he was forced to get into his car and go to an ATM where he withdrew money. The victim said he was kicked out at NE 17th Street and his car was taken.

Officers located two suspects at the apartment on Kicker Road. Nineteen-year-old Dremayne Kevon Lee and 17-year-old Jaquarious Denzel Washington are both charged with first degree robbery and first degree kidnapping. They are both in custody.

Police are waiting to release the mug shots for Washington and Lee until the victim gets a chance to look at them.
