WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

The City of Wetumpka held am American Idol viewing party behind the city administrative building at 408 S. Main St. on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

This event is in support of Jessica Meuse, a native of Slapout, and will be a way to promote her advancement into the top three.

The city is encouraging everyone to vote for Jessica in order to ensure her advancement on the show, and to bring American Idol, along with the Slapout native, to Wetumpka. If Meuse is able to advance as one of the top three contestants, she will return home this weekend for a visit which will include a parade and concert.

More details of the parade and concert will be released later if Meuse advances to the top three.
