MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

Carson's Grill on County Line Road in Madison scored a 68 with the Limestone County Health Department. The inspector reported that water in the hand washing sinks was less than 100 degrees, which is the required temperature for washing hands.

The inspector spotted a worker touching ready to eat food with their bare hands. Carson's Grill lost points because of cracked containers, chipped plates and a damaged metal strainer.

The inspector reported finding food without date mark stickers to indicate when it had been prepared and when it would expire. And the inspector reported cheese was held 18 degrees above the maximum temperature allowed for cold holding food.

Clinton Avenue Grocery in Huntsville scored an 80. A Madison County health inspector reported hot holding and cold holding food temperature violations. Pork chops, fried and baked chicken and sausage were held 17 to 25 degrees below the required minimum 135 degree temperature.

The inspector also reported eggs were nearly 30 degrees above the required maximum 41 degree cold holding temperature, and that pigs feet and raw chicken were a few degrees too warm. Clinton Avenue Grocery also lost points because the inspector found evidence of rodents.

Craig's Café and Gator Grill in Sheffield scored a 78. The inspector reported finding gumbo with no date of preparation sticker, an employee drink on a prep table with food, and herb butter sitting out above the required cold holding temperature.

The Taco Bell in Boaz made a big improvement during their reinspection with a 95, scoring 12 points better than their previous inspection.
