ETOWAH COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

Governor Robert Bentley has canceled his tour of the storm damage in Etowah County on Friday. The governor cited weather-related travel issues as the reason.

Lt. Governor Kay Ivey will continue with the tour on Friday afternoon.

State officials were scheduled to meet at Bethlehem Baptist Church on Sardis Road in Boaz and then tour some of the hardest-hit areas. Smith Institute in Etowah County saw a lot of damage.

On Friday morning, a woman was still working in her yard trying to clean up and remove large limbs and tree trunks.

Luckily no one was hurt when two tornadoes, an EF-1 and EF-3, passed through, but about 30 homes had major damage.

"It took all of our out buildings. It damaged our roof. And like you said it took our prettiest trees and left us our worst trees," resident Glenda Renfroe said.

Glenda Renfroe says if she could talk to Governor Bentley today, she would tell him he needs to be thankful for all the volunteers who have stepped up the last two weeks.

She also says she would like to see FEMA assist families in Etowah County.
