Tucson, AZ -

Arizona football and head coach Rich Rodriguez saw three of their former players enter the National Football League professional ranks on Saturday as the 2014 NFL Draft came to a close.

With the 117th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected former Arizona running back and Tucson native Ka'Deem Carey. He joins former Wildcats linebacker Lance Briggs, offensive lineman Eben Britton and tight end Fendi Onobun (basketball) on the Bears' roster.

From 2011-13, Carey was a two-time consensus All-American, a two-time first-team All-Pac-12 selection and the 2013 Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. In 2012, he was the nation's leading rusher in yards per game (148.4) and total yards (1,929). He is Arizona's all-time career rushing leader (4,232 yards) and ranks seventh all-time in Pac-12 history.

Carey owns the Arizona and Pac-12 single-game rushing records (366 yards vs. Colorado in 2012) and Arizona's single-season rushing record (1,929 yards in 2012). In total, he owns or shares 26 Arizona single-game, season and career records.

With the 157th pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected former Arizona cornerback Shaquille Richardson. He joins former Wildcat safety Robert Golden on the Steelers' roster.

In 2013, Richardson played in and started all 13 games at cornerback. He totaled 55 tackles, including three for loss, and picked off three passes for 34 return yards. He was part of two interceptions in Arizona's upset win over No. 5 Oregon.

With the 212th pick of the NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected LB Marquis Flowers. He is the lone Wildcat on the Bengals' roster.

In 2013, he started and played all 13 games at will linebacker and was an All‐Pac‐12 Honorable Mention honoree. Flowers totaled 93 tackles for second on the team while also collecting 11 tackles for a loss of 22 yards. He recovered a fumble for 36 return yards at UNLV and picked off a pass for 14 return yards and a touchdown against Utah.
