HOLYOKE, MA (WSHM) -

Police arrested a 23-year-old man who allegedly shot a teenager in the head two months ago.

Michael "Mexico" Santiago was taken into custody Monday when he was found hiding at 818 Chicopee St. in Chicopee, according to Holyoke police Lt. Jim Albert.

Authorities arrested him for shooting the 16-year-old on South Canal Street in Holyoke on March 23. The teen was shot in the head but survived his wounds, Albert said.

Santiago was arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Monday.

The Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Squad (VFAS) and Chicopee police assisted in the arrest.
