BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

A trial over the state's raid of Victoryland Casino could be delayed.

A gambling expert used by the Alabama attorney general has died. A judge had scheduled a trial June 23 on whether the state could keep the cash and destroy more than 1600 machines seized in last year's raid. Now the attorney general's office wants a three-month delay because of the death of gambling expert, Bob Sertell.

Sertell testified in several cases that gambling machines violated Alabama law.
