The Tuscaloosa city council will vote Tuesdya night on two contracts to allow an engineering company to plan out improvements for a City Walk.
City Walk will be a biking and walking trail that follows the path of the April 27 tornado. The trail would follow a path from Greensboro Avenue to Hargrove Road along 10th Avenue.
They are asking engineers for more conceptual designs to see how the final project could look and also how the infrastructure along the trail could be improved.
One feature would be to bury most light, phone and cable poles. Only decorative light poles would dot the trail.
A city engineer says the trail's path was chosen by citizen input.
"The one public infrastructure request was a 10-foot shared path or bicycle path that generally follows the path of the tornado across the city of Tuscaloosa," David Griffin said.
