JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
Two major changes take effect today! Rain and storms move in, making for wetter conditions. Also, temperatures will be much cooler.
A cold front moving through will provide rain showers moving across the area from west to east throughout the day. In the morning, expect showers generally west of I-55 and northwest of the Natchez Trace. By midday, rain will be more widespread across the area and storms become more likely. Expect the possibility for heavy downpours. Rain and storms clear out tonight, and we'll be much drier tomorrow.
Temperature-wise, expect a BIG cool down! Highs today will only be in the mid 70s. That will likely happen rather early in the day. It's a good idea to dress for temperatures in the mid 60s. We clear out tonight and temps plummet. We could even be near a record low temp (low 40s) early Thursday morning! While Thursday afternoon will be sunny, it won't be warmer with much of the day spent in the 60s. Another record low is possible Thursday night and into Friday.
Warmer conditions in the 80s will be back for the weekend.
