LEE COUNTY, SC (WIS) -

The Lee County Sheriff's Office says they've located a 51-year-old man who was missing since 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators say Terry Barns was spotted in Camden by an eagle-eyed citizen who saw Barns' photo on the news Wednesday morning. She immediately called dispatch and two officers managed to locate the man.

The report says both officers talked to Barns for several minutes and discovered he'd walked all the way from Bishopville.

Officials say Barns, who has a history of mental illness, may have been trying to return to his home in Pageland.

The report continues and says Barns told the officers that he had not had his prescribed medicine since Tuesday.

Barns was eventually taken to KershawHealth for an evaluation.
