GEAUGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News has learned there are three open estates filed with the Geauga County Probate Court concerning the teens who were killed in the February 2012 shooting at Chardon High School.

The court has received applications for approval of partial settlements of the wrongful death actions involving all three of the victims' estates.

These applications have been filed with a motion to keep the settlement confidential and under seal.

The court has taken these matters under consideration and there is a motions hearing on Tuesday, May 20.

17-year old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin were killed in the shooting by a student gunman. 17-year-old Nick Walczak remains paralyzed from the waist down. 18-year-old Joy Rickers and a 6th, unidentified victim were treated and released from the hospital.

The student gunman was sentenced to serve three life prison sentences. An appeal has since been filed.
