MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Police say they are investigating a homicide after a Montgomery man was killed in a shooting Wednesday.

Montgomery Police and fire medics say shortly after 3 p.m., they responded to the 1400 block of Mobile Road on the report of a subject being shot. When they arrived they located 43-year-old M.B. Manik sustaining a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

An investigation indicates that Manik, a store clerk, was shot in the course of a robbery.

No arrests have been made at this time and no additional information is available for release as the investigation continues.
